Planning Your Wedding

Congratulations! You are about to embark on a time of great happiness and probably great stress because you are about to start planning the perfect wedding.

First of all there is no such thing as ‘early’ when it comes to wedding planning even a simple wedding in a registrar’s office and a small reception takes a great deal of thought, time and effort, if you are to get it absolutely right.

Set the date as soon as possible, because the best reception venue, church or hall would be booked up early.

Once you have set the date sit down with your fiancé and workout exactly what kind of wedding you both want – It’s your day, so try not to be pressurized into anything else by well meaning relatives. Decide on the number of guests you would like, the type of reception venue that would suit you and most of all set a budget – and then stick to it. The sky is the limit when it comes to weddings and it is easy to overspend. Early in the planning stage is also the time to decide who is going to pay for what. It may be traditional for the bride’s family to bear the majority of the wedding costs, but nowadays it is quite acceptable for the groom’s parents and the couple themselves to chip in.

To help you plan your wedding, use our count down checklist, to keep track of arrangements already made, places booked and all those things still left for you to do!.

The wedding has become the most important rite of passage celebrated by today’s woman.
